City A.M., the influential London-based free financial newspaper and website, has announced the full line-up for its Active Trader event next month. The first City A.M. Active Trader event was held last year, bringing together the leading lights of the trading, investing, and forex industries for a day of presentations, debates, and networking.
The event will take place across two floors of the Grange Hotel Tower Bridge, one of the most modern and state-of-the-art conference venues in London, on Friday June 21st. The event promises to have something to offer for anyone with an interest in trading and investing, whether they are highly experienced and knowledgeable or are just starting out.
Registration begins at 8.30am, followed by a welcoming presentation from City AM editor Allister Heath at 9.15, and a talk by Hampstead Capital’s Lex Van Dam on the topic of Identifying Current FX Market Trends at 9.45. After a short intermission, the event splits off into two conference rooms, with a talk from iG’s David Jones on Short Term Equities Trading on the lower ground floor, and a panel discussion featuring David Morrison, BullionVault’s Paul Tustain, and London Investment Consultant George Lequime on The Future of Gold.
At midday, there will be two panel discussions running simultaneously across the two rooms. In the downstairs conference room, there will be a debate on the topic of Traders vs Politicians moderated by Karen Tso, featuring Paul Staines (AKA Guido Fawkes), David Bulk (Panmure Gordon), and Mike Smithson (politicalbetting.com). Upstairs, there will be a Masterclass in Social Trading with Tradable’s Jannick Malling, eToro’s CEO and Founder Yoni Assai, iG’s David Jones, and Dinis Guarda publisher of tradersdna.com and .
After an extended lunch break, City A.M’s Boris Schlossberg will be giving a talk on New Strategies for Day Trading FX in the downstairs room, while there will be a Masterclass in Technical Analysis in the upstairs room with iG’s Brenda Kelly, EasyForex’s Zoe Fiddes, FXCM’s Alejandro Zambrano, London Capital Group’s Simon Brown, and OANDA’s Paul Hayward on the panel.
At 3pm, Bank of America Merrill Lynch European Investment Strategist John Bilton will be talking about trends in European equities downstairs, while Chris Vecchio and David Rodriguez of FXCM will be giving a joint presentation on the topic of Forex Insight upstairs.
The final talks of the day take place at 4pm, with a Masters of Forex panel discussion between Kathleen Brooks (Forex.com), Ashraf Laidi (City Index), Geoffrey Yu (UBS), and the entrepreneur Richard Fairleigh in the downstairs room. This will be followed by a champagne reception in the downstairs hall, sponsored by FXCM, with a closing address from City A.M.’s Allister Heath.
All in all, it’s an event that nobody with an interest in trading and investment can afford to miss. Tickets, priced at £65 including full catering, are available at the City A.M. Active Trader website.
